Senior Project Cost Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Project Cost Engineer to join our Industry Division and Projects function in Finland.
What kind of work duties do we offer?
You will join Rejlers Industry Division’s Project Management service line, which is responsible for delivering and managing investment projects for our customers. You will work on diverse and engaging projects and play a key role in developing our cost management capabilities.
In this role, you will be responsible for project cost control throughout the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and execution to commissioning. You will manage project finances by preparing cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts, and by monitoring expenditures to ensure projects remain within financial targets. This includes analyzing designs, tracking actual costs, reporting deviations, and identifying savings opportunities and financial risks. You will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to optimize resource allocation and support project profitability.
Your main tasks will include:
Develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment, and prepare project budgets.
Monitor actual spending, compare it to estimates/budget and prepare variation reports.
Risk Management: Identify potential cost overruns and risks. Developing strategies to mitigate them.
Cost data management developmental tasks. Maintain and elaborate existing tools and databases and processes.
Reporting: Create cost reports, forecasts and financial performance data to project teams and management.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, construction management and other stakeholders to support financial decisions.
Development of project Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS).
Tender management including preparation of bills of quantities, contract conditions and participation in assembly of tender documents.
Bills of quantities: quantity management, quantity trending, KPI- follow-up and analysis.
We expect you to have:
Suitable education, such as M.Sc. (Tech.) or Bachelor of Engineering (UAS)
Experience in industrial investment projects. Design, procurement, site operations, commissioning.
Track record of cost control in EPC/EPCM projects in the industrial sector.
Experience in an international project environment. Understanding of design functions and project execution dependencies.
Self-management and the ability to withstand pressure.
An analytical approach to work.
Performing the tasks requires good communication skills in Finnish and English. In writing and orally.
